Product Information

Name:
VEGFR-2-IN-6
Description:

VEGFR-2-IN-6 is a high purity peptide that contains a ligand that can bind to VEGFR-2. This peptide can be used as a research tool in the study of cancer cells and their interactions with VEGFR-2 receptors. The receptor is found on endothelial cells and mediates many biological processes, including the growth of new blood vessels. The activator of this receptor is VEGF, which activates this receptor by binding to it. The binding of VEGF to the receptor causes activation of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K) which leads to increased production of nitric oxide synthase (NOS), leading to increased production of nitric oxide (NO). NO activates guanylate cyclase, leading to an increase in intracellular cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) levels and vasodilation.
