6-(2-Chlorophenoxy)-5-fluoro-4(3H)-pyrimidinone is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms. It has been shown to be effective against a wide variety of bacteria, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Streptococcus mutans. 6-(2-Chlorophenoxy)-5-fluoro-4(3H)-pyrimidinone also has anti-parasitic properties and can be used for the treatment of protozoan infections such as malaria.
