5-Chloro-pyrimidin-2-yl)-methyl-amine is a kinase inhibitor that has been shown to have the ability to inhibit inflammation. It is an analog of 5-chloro-N-(1,3-dioxo-1,3,3a,4,5,6,7,8a-octahydroindeno[1′,2′:4′,5′]pyrazino[2′:1′]pyrimidin-4-yl)methanamine and encompasses a number of derivatives. These derivatives include prodrugs and alcohols that are activated by esterases or reduced by glutathione reductase. The inhibition of kinases reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNFα and IL6.
