Description

2-(Dimethylamino)-6-propionylnaphthalene is a fluorescent compound that emits light in the ultraviolet region. It has been used as a photochemical reaction solution and fluorescence probe for hydrogen fluoride. This compound reacts with methanol to form prodan, which has been shown to have water vapor emission properties. 2-(Dimethylamino)-6-propionylnaphthalene is mainly used in wastewater treatment and methanol solvent. It has also been used as a model system for studying the photophysical properties of zirconium oxide.
