Product Information
- Benzyloxycarbonyl-Glycyl-Glycyl-L-Arginine 4-Methyl-Coumaryl-7-Amide acetate Z-Gly-Gly-Arg-MCA acetate
The chemical compound Z-Gly-Gly-Arg-amc acetate is a proteolytic inhibitor. It inhibits the serine protease activity by binding to the active site of the enzyme and blocking its reaction with the substrate. This prevents the hydrolysis of proteins and thrombin formation, which is important for blood clotting. It has been shown to have a positive effect on the treatment of cancer and bone diseases in clinical studies. The skeleton contains about 20% of protein, most of which are collagen and elastin. These proteins are degraded by proteolytic enzymes, such as plasminogen activator, kallikrein, trypsin, and thrombin. The skeleton undergoes continuous remodeling through bone resorption and deposition that is regulated by these enzymes.
