Product Information
4,5-Dichloro-2-iodoaniline is a heterocyclic organic compound that contains a sulfur atom. It can be prepared by the reaction of aniline with phosphorus pentasulfide in the presence of light or by irradiation of aniline with ultraviolet light in the presence of acetic acid. The technique was first applied to synthesize 4,5-dichloro-2-iodopyrimidine in 1877. This ligand has been used extensively in coordination chemistry and as a catalyst for many reactions including oxidative cyclization. The ligand is also useful for studying geometrical and electronic structures of molecules and for catalyzing c-h bond formation. This ligand also has photocatalytic activity, which is due to its ability to convert aldehydes into aliphatic alcohols under visible light illumination. 4,5-Dichloro-2-iodoaniline can also mineralize organic substances
