2,6-Dibromo-4-hydroxypyridine (2,6-DHP) is a low yield chemical compound that is used as an antimalarial agent. It is an epoxide that can be prepared by the Wittig reaction of 2,3-dibromopyridine with ethylene oxide. The population of 2,6-DHP has been shown to have enantiopure properties in the synthesis of pyridines and ring-opening reactions with primary amines. This compound also has low spin and solvates.
