Product Information
1-(4-Pentyloxy-3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-(pyridine-3-carbonyl)thiourea is a synthetic compound that is used in the treatment of heart disease. It inhibits dopamine binding to the D2 receptor, thereby reducing cardiac contractility and subsequently lowering ventricular rate and blood pressure. The drug has been shown to be effective in preventing restenosis following angioplasty procedures or coronary artery bypass grafting with up to 95% inhibition of the growth of smooth muscle cells. 1-(4-Pentyloxy-3-trifluoromethylphenyl)-3-(pyridine-3-carbonyl)thiourea also decreases the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins in cardiac tissue.
