Description:

(E)-2-Benzylidene-3-(cyclohexylamino)-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-one is an experimental drug that has been shown to be effective in the treatment of cancer and nerve damage. It is a selective inhibitor of protein synthesis, and it inhibits the production of proteins vital for cell division. The drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in animal experiments. In addition, (E)-2-Benzylidene-3-(cyclohexylamino)-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-1-one has been shown to inhibit bcl family proteins in mitochondria and may have potential as a therapy for mitochondrial diseases.
