Description:

Magnamycin B is a natural antibiotic that has antiparasitic and antiviral properties. It is a macrolide antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The chemical structure of Magnamycin B is closely related to that of erythromycin and clindamycin, which are antibiotics used in human medicine. However, the pharmacological properties of Magnamycin B are different from those of these antibiotics because it does not inhibit protein synthesis or have an effect on cell wall synthesis in bacteria. This antibiotic also has anti-inflammatory effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
