Product Information

Name:
Shoreic acid
Description:

Shoreic acid is a natural triterpenoid found in the Meliaceae family of plants. Shoreic acid has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against leukemia cells and may be useful in the treatment of cancer. A study on human herpes virus showed that shoreic acid inhibited viral DNA replication and affected the cell cycle, thereby halting proliferation of infected cells. Shoreic acid also inhibits p-hydroxybenzoic acid, which is one of the major metabolites of cabraleone, an anticancer drug. Shoreic acid binds to specific regulatory proteins that regulate gene expression, including transcription factors and transcriptional co-repressors. Shoreic acid has been shown to inhibit tumor growth by interfering with protein synthesis in cancer cells.
