- Vitamin D5
Vitamin D5 is an analog of vitamin D that has been shown to have anticancer properties. It acts as a kinase inhibitor, blocking the activity of enzymes involved in cancer cell growth and proliferation. Vitamin D5 has been found to induce apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in cancer cells from both Chinese hamsters and humans. Studies have also shown that it can inhibit luciferase activity, which is often used as a marker for tumor growth. Additionally, Vitamin D5 has been found in urine samples from patients with cancer who were receiving high doses of the drug mannitol. Its potential as a cancer-fighting agent makes it an exciting area of research for future treatments.
