Product Information
Aspochalasin D is a potent cytostatic agent that inhibits the polymerization of actin filaments. It has been shown to have cytostatic effects on prostate cancer cells and colonic adenocarcinoma cells. Aspochalasin D also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. The biological studies on aspochalasin D have shown its inhibition of cryptococcus neoformans in mice and Cryptosporidium parvum in hamsters. Aspochalasin D also has antimicrobial activity against molybdenum-resistant strains of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus.
