5,7-Dihydroxy-2-isopropylchromone is a secondary metabolite that was isolated from the leaves of the plant Chromolaena odorata. 5,7-Dihydroxy-2-isopropylchromone has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activities. It can inhibit the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNFα in LPS activated human macrophages. 5,7-Dihydroxy-2-isopropylchromone also inhibits the production of nitric oxide by lipopolysaccharide (LPS) activated macrophages and prevents NFκB nuclear translocation.
