4-Methoxy-3-methylpyridine is an organic compound that belongs to the pyridine class of compounds. It is a synthetic product, which has been shown to inhibit the protein synthesis in hepg2 cells. 4-Methoxy-3-methylpyridine has also been found to be lethal to cyanobacteria and human red blood cells at low concentrations. This compound can also inhibit cell growth by inhibiting uptake and transport of amino acids in cells. In addition, this substance inhibits the production of cyanogen from hydrochloric acid, as well as the production of cyanide from cyanogen. The stereospecificity and flow rate of 4-methoxy-3-methylpyridine have not yet been determined.
