This drug also interacts with the adenosine A3 receptor, showing its potential use in neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease. Adenosine amine congener binds to alkanoic acid in mitochondria, inhibiting energy metabolism, which may lead to adverse effects on the kidneys and liver when administered chronically.
