Isoferrone is a natural flavonoid that is found in the plant genus Isochandalus. It has been shown to have antiplatelet activity and inhibitory effects on platelet aggregation. Isoferrone has also been shown to inhibit phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) and protein tyrosine phosphatases 1B (PTP1B), which are two enzymes that regulate insulin resistance. In addition, Isoferrone contains isoflavones that are thought to be responsible for its insulin-sensitizing effects.
