Product Information

Name:
Ethyl 1-(phenylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxylate
Description:

Ethyl 1-(phenylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxylate is a peptidomimetic inhibitor of the voltage-dependent potassium channel Kv1.5. It binds to the S4 region of the channel, blocking ion flux and preventing action potentials. Ethyl 1-(phenylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine-2-carboxylate has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of cells in culture. This agent has also been shown to bind to other types of ion channels, including voltage dependent L type calcium channels and hERG channels.
