Product Information
JNJ-17203212 is a potent, selective inhibitor of TRPV1 cation channels. It blocks the entry of calcium ions into cells by binding to the channel and blocking the ion passage. JNJ-17203212 has been shown to inhibit chronic cough symptoms in animal models, as well as decrease the amount of mucus produced in response to capsaicin or citric acid. This drug also has potential for treating bone cancer, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and diabetes-induced neuropathy. JNJ-17203212 is not expected to be effective for obesity because it does not affect body mass index.
