Oxohongdenafil is a novel antiparasitic, antibiotic, and antiviral agent that has been shown to have potent activity against bacteria and viruses. It is a synthetic compound that is structurally related to the natural product, lodenafil. Oxohongdenafil has been shown to inhibit viral replication by interfering with the synthesis of viral DNA or RNA. It also inhibits bacterial growth through inhibition of protein synthesis and cell division. The mechanism of action for oxohongdenafil has not yet been elucidated.
