Product Information
Cenisertib is a n-oxide that selectively inhibits the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It binds to the EGFR and blocks the interaction of this growth factor with its receptor, leading to inhibition of cancer cell proliferation. Cenisertib has shown efficacy in treating cervical cancer by blocking the activation of EGFR. It also inhibits ferroptosis, a form of programmed cell death that is characteristic for some types of cancer cells. Cenisertib has been shown to have anti-viral activity against HIV and HBV by inhibiting viral replication. The bicyclic heterocycle is derived from cinnamaldehyde, which is a natural compound found in cinnamon bark oil.
