- Setrobuvir
Setrobuvir is a non-nucleoside inhibitor of HIV-1 replication. It binds to the viral RNA polymerase and prevents the formation of the active enzyme, which is required for replication. Setrobuvir has been shown to be an effective antiviral drug against hepatitis C virus (HCV) in cell culture and in mice, but it is not yet approved for use in humans. Setrobuvir has no affinity for mammalian DNA polymerases or other enzymes, which makes it unlikely that it would have any adverse effects on host cells.
