Product Information
VA-K-14 is a peptide that was originally isolated from the venom of the African scorpion, Karschia erythropus. VA-K-14 activates voltage-gated potassium channels (VGPCs) and inhibits calcium influx in rat hippocampal neurons. It also binds to and inhibits the activity of protein kinase C (PKC), which is involved in mediating inflammatory responses. VA-K-14 has been shown to have no toxicity in mice when administered at doses up to 2 mg/kg body weight. The high purity and receptor specificity of VA-K-14 make it an excellent research tool for studying ion channels and PKC inhibition.
