Product Information
SGC2085 is a histone protein that is involved in the regulation of gene transcription. It has been shown to be a backup regulator of inflammatory pain and to play an important role in cancer development. SGC2085 contains arginine methylation sites that are necessary for its activity, and these sites can be specifically targeted with nitrogen-containing compounds. The optical system used in this study consists of a single-photon microscope, which allows for detection of SGC2085 at a resolution of 1.4 nanometers. This system also allows for the use of expression plasmids to observe the effects of arginine methylation on gene transcription in bacteria such as Escherichia coli and subtilis.
