Product Information
4-[Ethyl(propyl)amino]benzoic acid hydrochloride (EPAP) is a small organic molecule that is used as a research tool in cell biology and pharmacology. EPAP binds to the extracellular domain of the alpha-2A adrenergic receptor, which activates this receptor. When activated, the alpha-2A adrenergic receptor stimulates adenylyl cyclase activity and increases intracellular levels of cAMP. This binding leads to increased protein interactions and activation of ion channels, which regulate calcium influx into cells. EPAP has been shown to inhibit ligand-induced activation of G-protein coupled receptors by competitive inhibition at the receptor binding site.
