Product Information
Apratoxin A is a cyclic lipopeptide that belongs to the class of natural products. It has potent antitumor activity and is used for the treatment of colorectal adenocarcinoma. Apratoxin A inhibits cancer cell viability by inhibiting enzymes that play an important role in cellular proliferation, such as protein synthesis, autophagy, and transfer reactions. The target enzymes are protein kinases and phosphatases. Apratoxin A binds to ATP binding sites on these enzymes, thereby preventing their catalytic functions. The compound is stable under acidic conditions and reacts with intramolecular hydrogen when heated to temperatures greater than 100°C. These properties make apratoxin A an ideal candidate for use in chemical biology experiments.
