Grandiflorenic acid is a diterpenoid compound that has been isolated from the stem bark of grand fir trees. It is the most abundant diterpenoid in the bark and has shown to be cytotoxic against human breast, liver, and lung cancer cells. This compound is also known to have anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis. Grandiflorenic acid has also been shown to affect blood pressure by lowering it in rats.
