It is a biomolecular agent that has been shown to induce chromosomal rearrangements and chemokine modifications in cancer cells. 5-(4-Bromophenyl)pentanoic acid also prevents apoptosis by binding to survivin, thereby inhibiting its ability to trigger apoptosis.
