6-Acetonyldihydrochelerythrine is a chemical compound that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of H1299, HCT116, and SW620 cells in vitro. 6-Acetonyldihydrochelerythrine also induces apoptotic cell death in cancer cells. This compound has shown inhibitory effects on lucidamine and argemone, which are natural products that have anti-cancer properties. Molecular modeling studies suggest that 6-acetonyldihydrochelerythrine binds to the same site as protopine and tripterygium, which are other compounds with anti-cancer properties.
