Baicalein-6-glucuronide is a flavonoid found in the plant Scutellaria galericulata, which has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine to treat inflammatory diseases. Baicalein-6-glucuronide is metabolized by the liver, and excreted in urine. The main metabolites of baicalein-6-glucuronide are baicalin and baicalein. This compound has a pharmacokinetic half-life of about 2 hours. Its plasma concentrations can be increased by coadministration with medicines that induce hepatic enzymes such as rifampicin, phenobarbital, or dexamethasone.
