Calipteryxin is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. It inhibits the production of necrosis factor (TNF) and other cytokines, which are key mediators of inflammation. Calipteryxin is also an anti-angiogenic agent and has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of vascular endothelial cells in vitro. Calipteryxin is a synthetic compound that can be found in nature as well as it can be synthesized in the laboratory. The chemical structure of calipteryxin is a furocoumarin with an amide substituent at C3. This class of compounds consists of two fused benzene rings, one with a carbonyl group and the other with an amide group. Calipteryxin has been shown to have high flow rates and low viscosity, making it suitable for use in analytical applications such as nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy on blood samples or flow
