Colupulone is a chemical compound that belongs to the class of pharmaceutical drugs. The molecular weight of colupulone is 315.2 g/mol and it has a melting point of 154°C. It can be obtained by reacting hydrochloric acid with sodium carbonate to produce precipitated sodium chloride, which is then reacted with diphenyl ether in the presence of light. Colupulone's chemical structure consists of an hydroxyl group and a benzene ring attached to an oxygen atom, which is attached to two chloro groups. This chemical compound has been shown to have physiological effects on the human body and can be used as a light-emitting substance at room temperature or higher.
