Product Information
Ruthenium is a transition metal that can be found in nature as an alloy with platinum. It is also a catalyst for many reactions and can be used to activate acylation reactions. Ruthenium acetate is an anticancer drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells. This drug is able to kill cancer cells by disrupting their redox potentials, which leads to the activation of reactive oxygen species that are released from the mitochondria of the cancer cell. Ruthenium acetate also inhibits amyloid protein production, which leads to decreased amyloid plaque deposition in the brain and decreased inflammation in Alzheimer's disease patients.
