Product Information

Name:
30-Hydroxylup-20(29)-en-3-one
Controlled Product
Description:

30-Hydroxylup-20(29)-en-3-one is a benzoate derivative that is found in the ethanol extract of Cordata, a rainforest plant. This compound has been shown to have anti-cancer properties and may be used as an anticancer drug candidate. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by blocking the cell cycle at the G1 phase. The main mechanism of action is thought to be inhibition of protein synthesis by binding to ribosomes and blocking the enzymatic activity of RNA polymerase II. 30-Hydroxylup-20(29)-en-3-one also has antimicrobial and insecticidal activities, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis in bacteria and insects.
