Description:
7,2'-Dihydroxy-4',5'-dimethoxyisoflavone is a flavonoid that has been shown to have antibacterial activity against the bacteria Staphylococcus. It also inhibits the growth of bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis and Escherichia coli, but not Candida albicans. This compound has been shown to inhibit the production of histamine in an animal model for allergic inflammation. This flavonoid also inhibits angiotensin I-converting enzyme (ACE) in rats.
