Product Information
- 2-(3,4-Dihydroxyphenyl)-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one
3',4'-Dihydroxyflavanone is a flavonol that is found in plants such as pisum sativum and glycosylation. It has been shown to have antiviral effects against the virus that causes influenza A. 3',4'-Dihydroxyflavanone displays virucidal activity by inhibiting viral replication, which may be due to its ability to inhibit glycosylation of the viral capsid protein. The antiviral effects are due to the ability of 3',4'-dihydroxyflavanone to bind copper ions and form a complex with them. This complex can then react with the virus' RNA polymerase enzyme, preventing it from replicating and thus killing the virus.
