Description:

5,3'-Dihydroxyflavone is a flavonoid that binds to the adenosine receptor. It has been shown to inhibit cancer and prostate growth in animal models. The structural analysis of this molecule showed that it contains a hydroxyl group at the 3' position of the B ring, which is a characteristic for binding to the adenosine receptor. 5,3'-Dihydroxyflavone has been shown to be effective against tumor xenografts in vitro and as an antidiabetic agent in vivo. This molecule also inhibits kinase activity by competitive inhibition and has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
