Nolatrexed is an ion channel ligand that blocks voltage-gated sodium channels. It is a research tool for studying the function of ion channels, and is used in pharmacology to study protein interactions. Nolatrexed has also been shown to inhibit the growth of certain cancer cells by blocking the receptor for epidermal growth factor (EGF) and by inhibiting cell proliferation.
