Ligupurpuroside B is a phenylpropanoid glycoside that is synthesized in plants and has been shown to have antioxidant properties. It binds to the lipase enzyme, which is an enzyme that hydrolyzes fats in the body. Ligupurpuroside B has been found to be more stable than ligupurpuroside A and C, as it does not react with reactive oxygen species or undergo hydrolysis by esterases. This compound is also an inhibitor of the lipid peroxidation process, which may be due to its ability to scavenge free radicals. Ligupurpuroside B has been shown to inhibit spontaneous oxidation reactions and can be used for the prevention of oxidative damage in cells.
