Garciniflavanone is a flavanone glycoside found in the leaves of Garcinia mangostana. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and can be used as an alternative medicine for treating coughs, inflammation, and cirrhosis. Garciniflavanone is also an isomeric flavonoid with a cycloartenol skeleton. It has been shown to inhibit the production of yuankanin, which is involved in the synthesis of cholesterol. This compound can also inhibit the formation of isoorientin from ursolic acid.
