It is also an inhibitor of ligand binding to the mGluR1, mGluR2, and mGluR5 receptors. This compound has been shown to be effective as a research tool in cell biology and pharmacology studies. Tert-butyl 4-[(3-phenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazol-5-yl)methyl]piperidine-1-carboxylate binds to proteins with high affinity and specificity and can be used as an antibody or peptide ligand for receptor binding studies.
