Description:
6-Hydroxy-5,7,4'-trimethoxyflavone is a diuretic drug that is used to treat edema. 6-Hydroxy-5,7,4'-trimethoxyflavone is the demethylated form of orthosiphon stamineus extract and has been shown to have hepatoprotective properties in rats. It also has a constant anhydrous form and can be synthesized with aluminum chloride or acetonitrile. Clinical trials have been carried out on this drug in China to evaluate its effectiveness as an antidiabetic.
