Description:
Heliosupine N-oxide is a n-oxide of heliosupine, an alkaloid found in the plant cynoglossum. This product inhibits acetylcholine uptake by binding to cholinergic receptors and blocks the action of acetylcholinesterase on acetylcholine, leading to increased levels of acetylcholine. Heliosupine N-oxide has been shown to increase the germination rate of seeds and roots in plants such as rinderine, pycnanthine and germinating barley. It also has a long term toxicity profile in rats.
