Product Information

Name:
3-[4-(6-Quinolinyl)phenyl]-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-3-ol
Description:

3-[4-(6-Quinolinyl)phenyl]-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]octan-3-ol (QABA) is a potent and selective activator of the human alpha7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α7nAChR). QABA enhances the function of α7nAChRs, which are believed to be involved in memory and learning processes. QABA binds to the central cavity of the alpha7 receptor, leading to increased channel opening probability and increased calcium influx into cells. This agent has been shown to increase the expression of ion channels that are important for neuronal growth and development, such as potassium channels.
