10Isovaleryloxy-8,9-epoxythymol-3-isovalerate is a sesquiterpene lactone that is found in the essential oil of Artemisia herba-alba. It has been shown to have antioxidative properties and inhibitory effects on influenza virus. 10Isovaleryloxy-8,9-epoxythymol-3-isovalerate has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on the growth of bacteria, including E. coli K12 and S. aureus, with dry weight as the indicator of bacterial growth. This compound has also been shown to be cytotoxic against hepg2 cells and can be used in pharmaceutical preparations.
