Product Information

Name:
SHA 68
Description:

SHA 68 is a molecule that belongs to the class of receptor antagonists. It binds to the alpha 2-adrenergic receptors and blocks the binding of norepinephrine and epinephrine, which are neurotransmitters important for regulating heart rate, blood pressure, and other physiological processes. SHA 68 has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on locomotor activity in mice deficient in alpha 2A-adrenergic receptors. It also reduces levels of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate) in the hippocampus, which may be due to its ability to bind to this receptor. In addition, it can cross the blood-brain barrier more easily than other drugs because it does not require a protein transporter such as P-glycoprotein or BCRP. The pharmacological properties of SHA 68 include its ability to alleviate symptoms of Parkinson's disease in animal models.
