It has been shown to inhibit the binding of peptides to their receptor, as well as block voltage-gated potassium channels in cell membranes. N-(4-Chloro-3-nitrophenyl)-N′-(4-fluorophenyl)urea is used in research as a tool for studying the pharmacology, protein interactions, and receptor structure of ion channels.
