Product Information
- (-)-Lupinisoflavone D(-)-3-[2,3-Dihydro-4-hydroxy-2-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)-5-benzofuranyl]-5,7-dihydroxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one
Lupinisoflavone D is a flavus compound that was found in the stem bark of lupinus plants. This natural product has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme rotenone-sensitive NADH dehydrogenase, which is involved in mitochondrial electron transport and may have an effect on cellular respiration. Lupinisoflavone D has also been shown to inhibit the growth of Aspergillus flavus and other fungi. The compound has been found to be an isoflavonoid, but it does not appear to be related to other known isoflavones such as luteone or parvisoflavone. Lupinisoflavone D is also a coumaronochromones, which are compounds with a coumarin nucleus and chromones. Its physicochemical properties were determined by means of various chromatographic methods including thin layer chromatography (TLC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
