Product Information
Oxypeucedanin methanolate (OPM) is a coumarin derivative that has been reported to exhibit potent radical scavenging activity. The radical scavenging activity of OPM was evaluated using the DPPH assay, and it was found to be more potent than bergapten or imperatorin. Furthermore, OPM exhibited inhibitory activity against the response element in gene analysis and enzyme activities. Coumarins have also been shown to have antidiabetic effects in vivo, inhibiting the production of glucose and glycogen by rat hepatocytes. This may be due to their inhibitory effect on phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase and phosphofructokinase-1.
