Description

Rheediaxanthone B is a natural product that can be used in vitro as an anticancer agent. It has been shown to have tumoricidal activity and the ability to inhibit the growth of cancer cells by blocking DNA synthesis. Rheediaxanthone B also inhibits population growth, which may be due to its ability to inhibit thymidylate synthesis. This compound can be used for the treatment of bacterial infections and anthelmintic drug. In addition, it has been shown to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. The mechanism of action of Rheediaxanthone B is not fully understood, but is thought to involve mitochondrial damage and cell cycle arrest at G1 phase.
